Quaid twins Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace, the newborn twins of Dennis Quaid and his wife Kimberly Buffington, are fighting for their lives after being inadvertently overdosed of Heparin( an anti-coagulant) on Sunday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

The drug is used to flush out IV lines and prevent blood clots.Both babies started to "bleed out" on Sunday night. Nancy Grace, 48, who hosts the Nancy Grace Show CNN Headline News show, gave birth twins on Nov 4. The newborns were named John David (5 pounds, 1 ounce) and Lucy Elizabeth (2 pounds, 15 ounces).
Grace, who had developed pulmonary edema, married secretly this summer, gave birth two months early. CNN spokeswoman Janine Iamunno said both the babies and Grace and doing well. Grace's husband, David Linch, is an Atlanta investment banker.
Grace, a former prosecutor with the Fulton County District Attorney's office, plans to return to hosting her CNN show as soon as possible, Iamunno said.
In a moving interview, the actor described how the condition has affected his sons speech and mobility.Angelman Syndrome (AS) is a rare neuro-genetic disorder named after a British paediatrician, Dr. Harry Angelman, who first described the syndrome in 1965. A syndrome is a collection of features which occur together as a group and indicate a particular condition. AS is characterised by intellectual and developmental delay, speech impediment, sleep disturbance, unstable jerky gait, seizures, hand flapping movements, frequent laughter/smiling and usually a happy demeanour.
But despite the heartbreak the syndrome has caused he said that he is “incredibly blessed to have him in my life” and told of his joy when James recently took his first steps.
He said that his son had shown “amazing courage” in the first four years of his life and that he is an “incredibly happy boy” despite his condition.
Ironically Colin – who has joint custody of James with his mother Kim Bordenave – proudly led the Irish team to Croke Park for the Special Olympics before his son was born.
Colin – who has starred in such movies as Miami Vice and Phone Booth – said that James has “enriched” his life “incredibly.”
And he said that he is dedicated to helping his son reach his own “individual potential” and to be “as happy as he can be.”
