Max McGee, the hero of the first Super Bowl died Saturday October 20 in Deephaven of Minnesota after falling from the roof of his home. He was 75 years old.
Max McGee, a former Green Bay Packers wide receiver, was most well-known for the first touchdown pass (video below) he scored in Super Bowl history in Green Bay's 35-10 victory over Kansas City in January 1967.
According to the numerous news outlets, McGee was blowing leaves off the roof when the tragedy happened. Police were called to the spot around 5:20 p.m., but ffforts to resuscitate McGee was unsuccessful. It's so sad for the NFL to lose a great man.
