Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right. ~Oprah Winfrey

Photographers Leda & St. Jacque shot model Crystal Renn for Elle Canada and it's a gorgeous layout. The hair/makeup, accessories, and wardrobe are INSANE. This spread shows you how the best way to ring in the New Year ...in couture.

"When Russian hookers fight, they take off a shoe and throw it at their foe. FYI."
-Dita Von Teese

The woman who's middle name should be "glamour", Dita Von Teese is December's
Russian Harper's Bazaar cover girl. As usual she looks AMAZING...

My favorite shot from the layout:

"Fashions are born and they die too quickly for anyone to learn to love them."
-Bettina Ballard

Mother Of London is a conceptual couture label headed up by Mildred von Hildegard with a definite "fetish fashion" feel to it...and a dash of "goth". I'm drooling over a few of the pieces...and I'm really feeling the job the glam squad did for the photoshoot...so lovin the hair and makeup.

~And The Winner Is...HOVA....HE Was The "Haute-est"

“Music is what feelings sound like.” -Unknown

I am sending out a request to the women of the red carpet...STEP YOUR GAME UP ASAP!! As a out loud and proud award show/red carpet junkie, I have to say last night's American Music Awards show (AKA "The AMAs") was the very definition of "Lackluster". I only had 2 "OMG" moments and they were courtesy of...2 MEN. The 1st time was seeing Jay Z take to the stage to perform "Empire State Of Mind" with Mz.Keys in a stunning white tuxedo...he was truly the epitome of "where the hood and high fashion meet". The 2nd was thanks to Adam "Glamaraci" Lambert's super glitzy soft-core porn-ish performance. It was fabulous... Ok, I'm straying. Back to my point... Ladies, when Paula Abdul is on the "Best Dressed" list we are in trouble!! So, after thinking about it til I had a very unglamorous headache I have decided that there wasn't one woman there who had earned the #1 spot on my best-dressed list so.... The winner is....

HOVA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yup. That's right. I am giving credit where credit is due. Mr. Sean "Jay Z" Carter simply out did you ladies... Classic and stylish white tux while performing and a just as "haute" black tux to accept his so rightfully deserved award. Pure class...

Now for the best of the rest...yawn...

Alicia Keys:

Carrie Underwood:

Whitney Houston (AMAZING performance and Mz.Houston also recieved the "International Artist Award")

Paula Abdul (NO ONE IS MORE SURPRISED THAN I!!!)

Jennifer Lopez:

Shakira:

Janet Jackson:

Mary J Blige:

Nicole Kidman:

Demi Lovato:

Rihanna:

Adam "Glameraci" Lambert:

I wonder if the red carpet would have been more exciting if most of the usual suspects weren't MIA...such as Beyonce, Mariah, Gwen, Britney, Madonna, Kanye and Amber...Hmmmmmm.
