The Hoboken, N.J., police SWAT team - the public safety director position to oversee the police and fire departments - was axed from the department after pictures surfaced showing Hooters waitresses posing with their guns, sprawled on top of police vehicles and dangling off the shoulders of officers.
The photos were taken two years ago at an Alabama Hooters as the officers returned from a Hurricane Katrina relief mission.
Lt. Angelo Andriani, the team's commander who is seen in many of the photos, said he and his team were off-duty at the time the pictures were taken, and the weapons were privately owned and not paid for by taxpayers.
