"You can never fully put your finger on the reason why you're suddenly, inexplicably compelled to explore one life as opposed to another." -Daniel Day-Lewis
Daniel Day-Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Dame Judi Dench, Marion Cotillard, Kate Hudson and Fergie all walked the red carpet Tuesday night (Dec 15th) at the NYC premiere of "Nine" the highly anticipated Rob Marshall movie set for release nationwide on Christmas Day. There was plenty of star power in attendance, Madonna and daughter Lourdes among them, looking fab together. Naomi Watts and Emmanuelle Chriqui also stood out...

Some set photos have been released and I think it's safe to say, this a is a very fashionable movie... Very visually pleasing to "Glamour Whores" like myself. And of course the fact that it set in Italy is icing on the cake for this authentic Sicilian girl.
From the photos and the sneak peek video (which I will be sharing with you:) I honestly feel like "Nine" is my now one of my very favorite movies...that I've NEVER seen. It's the best I've never had... The hair, makeup and wardrobe is PHENOMENAL. I am such a sucker for glamour...and this movie oozes glamour. I can't take it...
I'll share the video first...
Kate Hudson performs "Cinema Italiano" in the film and I have to ask... Who knew?! Who knew Katie could sing and dance like that?! And she did it while looking utterly AMAZING!! I have dabbled with being a Kate Hudson fan for years but after this...sign me up for her fan club. Bellissima Kate!!
Amazing right?!
Ok, now the photos... The glamour almost jumps out at you. I just can't take it...
~If Botticelli were alive today he'd be working for Vogue.~ -Peter Ustinov
Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz and Kate Hudson, the stars of "Nine" are photographed by Annie Leibovitz for the cover of Vogue November 09. Although it's a beautiful cover, I can't help but notice someone OD'd on photoshop...seriously. Nicole Kidman looks a Madame Trussaud's wax figure...and it's a shame because she's truly a beautiful woman.
"A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men." -Roald Dahl
Tim Burton (whom I adore) has done it again... The famed director of "Edward Scissorhands", "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", "Beetlejuice", "Sleepy Hollow" and the upcoming fantastical "Alice in Wonderland" has collaborated with fashion photographer Tim Walker for Harper's Bazaar October 09 issue and created PURE BRILLIANCE.
Now, many people ask me what my fascination with Burton is, seeing as how I love glamour. Huh?! Tim Burton's work is filled with GLAMOUR!!Granted, some times it's gory glam, but glam nonetheless. The clothes, hair and MAKEUP is so glamorous. My ultimate career ambition is to be the Key Makeup Artist on a Tim Burton production.
The article and photospread is timed to publicize his upcoming MOMA retrospective opening November 22nd and running through April 26, 2010. I personally cannot wait to see that either...I am also breathlessly anticipating his release of the adaptation of "Alice in Wonderland". This editorial has definitely fed my addiction for now though.
I learned something interesting while researching this post. That would be that it is not the first time Tim Burton and Tim Walker collaborated. They also did a photospread for Vogue UK based on Roald Dahl's work. The photos paid tribute to his work, such as "Charlie and The Chocolate Factory", "Matilda" and "James and the Giant Peach". I will be showing you those photos also after the "Tricks and Treats" photos. Enjoy;)
"Tricks and Treats" by Tim Burton and Tim Walker for Harper's Bazaar Oct 09:
I managed to dig up the photos from Tim Burton's and Tim Walker's previous collaboration "Tales of the Unexpected", inspired by Roald's Dahl's work for Vogue UK. They are so amazing and thought they should be seen...
