"Above all, remember that the most important thing you can take anywhere is not a Gucci bag or French-cut jeans; it's an open mind” -Gail Rubin Bereny

The Sixth Annual White Cashmere Collection 2009: Fashion with Compassion Show,a fund and awareness raiser for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation featured models strutting down the runway in "Toilet Paper Couture". Fifteen of Canada’s top and emerging designers, including Greta Constantine, Sunny Fong, Paul Hardy, and Anastasia Lomonova designed stunning creations using Cashmere Bathroom Tissue's limited edition "Pink Roll" and their white tissue as well. The end result was an AMAZING runway show for a great cause!! Love this...

~So Many "WTF?!" Moments...I Had To Share Them~

Bizarre - (bi·zarre)
ADJECTIVE:
Strikingly unconventional and far-fetched in style or appearance; odd

Today, as I do everyday, I was surfing the web and flipping through a bunch of magazines catching up on the pop culture news of the day... The only thing that made this day different from any other was the amount of "WTF?!" moments. I swear the whole world has gone nuts. And I'm a lil concerned about the definition of the word "fashion" at this point. Anyway, as I spent the day with my jaw dropped uttering "huh?!" "Oh no she didn't" and "WTF is that?!" it occurred to me that I should share these tidbits with my readers...everyone needs a good laugh once in awhile.

"WTF?!" Moment #1:

"Garter Jeans". Yes, I said "Garter Jeans". I don't even know what to say about this. I'll let the picture speak for itself...

Yup...I told you. WTF?!

"WTF?!" Moment #2

Pamela Anderson. Heatherette. She needs to hang up that damn Baywatch Bathing Suit and Heatherette needs to come up with Plan B for when everyone figures out that they are so overrated. Anyway...Pam Anderson as Ronald McDonald for Heatherette in a Baywatch Bathing Suit. Oh lawd...

"WTF?!" Moment #3

Dennis Rodman. Yes, he's back. On the runway. Miami. Pink. Lots of Pink. I can't....

"WTF?!" Moment of The Day #4

Disney's Tinkerbell "make-over". Make-over?! That's what they call turning Tinkerbell (my very very favorite since childhood) into PETER PAN?!?!?! Leave well enough alone Disney...they have now incurred the wrath of Glamour Whore...grrrr. WTF Disney?!

Tell me with a straight face that the "new" Tinkerbell (on the left) doesn't look like a boy!! Wtf?!

"WTF?!" Moment of The Day #5 (Actually this made my jaw drop yesterday but kept thinking about it today so it made the list)

Vogue. WTF is going on over at Vogue?! 1st they airbrush and photoshop the bejesus out of the American Vogue Women In Hollywood/Nine cover. Then French Vogue crossed a line when the applied "blackface" (their exact words) all over blond Caucasian model Lara Stone. The photos were deemed offensive by most. I'm just baffled as to what they were trying to create. The whole shoot made no sense. Especially when they turned Lara into their vision of a "geisha"...omg...wtf?! Vogue get it together please. Asap.

And I have no idea what this pic was about...like I said the spread made no sense.

I wonder what tomorrow will bring...xoxo

~Tyra's "Reminder"~

"People always ask me if I'm going to stop modeling because I have started an acting career. I hope to continue to model for years to come." -Tyra Banks

In recent years former Victoria's Secret and top runway model Tyra Banks has been concentrating mostly on her growing career in tv/media. I actually almost forget sometimes that she was one of the modeling industries biggest stars. However I was reminded when I saw these pix from a recent photo shoot in NYC. Tyra proves that she still has it and reminds us of how good she is at it.

~Philip Treacy SHOES for Valentino Spring/Summer 2010~

"I'm Irish but I design something that is quintessentially English and I love hats."
-Philip Treacy

Leave it to
Philip Treacy to give my mood a much needed boost. Yesterday I was studying the Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010 shows and was feeling a little disturbed. Am I the only one who felt that Louis Vuitton's line, show and presentation were horrific?! And I certainly did not appreciate CLOGS at CHANEL!! Grrrrr....Glamour Whore was not happy.

But then.... I came across Valentino's show, which received mixed reviews. Now, one thing you need to know about Glamour Whore is that I do not give a damn about anyone else's review. My opinion is the only one that matters to me. That being said I feel that Valentino's show was one of the top 3 at Paris Fashion Week.

My mood was lifting slightly from all the tulle, who can stay cranky around such glorious tulle?! And then I noticed that 3 of the models were wearing utterly amazing shoes. Shoes much better than the other Valentino models were wearing. I smelled a story. I investigated and found out the most divine news. Famed milliner Philip Treacy had designed these works of art for Valentino!!! I am obsessed with the work of Philip Treacy, and if someone ever gets me over my phobia of marriage, I will be walking down aisle with a Treacy creation adorning my glorious mane.

These fabulous shoes are available for purchase, most likely in limited quantities but if you can find them you'd be a fool not to snap them up. They are works of art...

Mr.Treacy:

~MAC and Rodarte Take Makeup ART To A Whole New Level~

"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up." ~Pablo Picasso

For Rodarte's Spring/Summer 2010 Runway Show last week during Fashion Week in NYC, MAC Cosmetic's Senior Artist Chantel Miller took makeup art to new heights. In collaboration with Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy , miller designed full-sleeve, half-sleeve and neck tattoos painted on BY HAND using only MAC cosmetics and brushes. It took 40 artists, yes I said 40 artists, and 4 hours to prepare and accomplish the look on the models before the show.

AMAZING. UTTERLY AMAZING.
