with experience you gain not only technical skills required to do your job, but also you gain project management experience. To be successfull in consulting world, you need to have strong project management skills and people management skills that come with experience... At least that's what I see in my company - one of the "big- four" firms (accounting, assurance and advisory services). Hope that helps

This is a standard text of USCIS, you should hear from them with in 15 calendar days of response receive date as it is PP. Ask your company/attorney to get in touch with USCIS.

The steps that I followed are on the tutorial on your site: (link below)
http://www.kirupa.com/blend_silverlight/silverlight_website_projects_pg3.htm
1. Add an Empty Web Site
2. Go to Start Options...
3. Add the Silverlight Project on the Silverlight Applications tab.
I attach a screenshot of the file structure.
Thank you.

I was initially issued pp for 5 years in India. Last year in '08 when it was expiring, i sent application for renewal of passport (NY Consulate) based on my EAD. However, instead of renewing it for another 5 years they renewed it for 1 year only. When I called the office, they said that they receive tons of pp's lon EAD which can be renewed for a year only.
Did anybody face this same problem? Can I apply for new passport based on I-485 receipt and would they issue passport for another 5 or 10 years?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I submitted my 485/765/131 application in May this year and my 485 is pending. I received my EAD but I got an email from CRIS saying that there is an RFE on my AP. The RFE email was on July 13th but my lawyer still hasn't received the RFE. How long does it typically take to receive the RFE?
Thanks.

Hello
My Labor approved in May 2007, Still i didn't received my Labor Hard Copy.
Anyone in same boat??
You will not get a hard copy. The approval goes electronically to your company attorney. Then your company will send you some papers to be signed by you and then they will file the I-140.

Thanks to all the enthusiastic members who attended the call today(Feb 26th). The number of people who attended the call were far more than what we had expected. We hope you are now more convinced about Immigration Voice and it's cause.
As explained in the call, we do need more people to come forward and help us in many of the teams that we have. If you would like to work in any of the following teams, please send an email to the email id listed next to it.
1) Membership - jay@immigrationvoice.org
2) Meet the lawmakers - pratik@immigrationvoice.org , anurag@immigrationvoice.org
3) Publicity & Media - sunil@immigrationvoice.org
4) Liaison - aman@immigrationvoice.org , shilpa@immigrationvoice.org
Given the response that we had today, we will try to make this as a regular feature of Immigration Voice. And definitely with a better conference calling system.
Please let us know of your feedback here about the call and Thanks once again.

Thanks for the input. Do you have any publications or IRS findings that you could direct me to that could be used to substantiate the argument that the benefit is non- taxable? I have not been able to find anything that says that the green card is non-taxable.

A quick question for all you experts out there
My wife is on H4 right now and I am on H1, though we got our EAD last year, but I am still using my H1 and not used my EAD yet, So is it possible to apply for Social Security for my wife, will applying for Social Security Number, considered as using EAD and H1 becomes void.
Can anyone please reply.

I am assuming your wife is H4? H4 to F1 shouldnt be a problem, this is the same path I took years ago before becoming H1.
There is only one issue I can think of and that is travelling outside the country. She might not be issued an F1 visa stamp at a consulate for travel outside the country since her H4 was based on yours which now has immigrant intent since you applied for PERM (LCA and I-140). The consulate will probably not believe she has non-immigrant intent. She would have to stay in the country until she changed to H1 and got that stamped, or until you get AP for both of you. But if you have no plans to leave the country I dont see that as an issue. Best to consult a proper immigration attorney since all I can tell you is my experience.
Good luck.

Gurus,
I work for company X and in my 9th year H1-B visa. X has filed for my Eb-3 labor and I-140 and I am currently AOS (July 07 filer) on my I-485. X recently extended my H1 through Oct 2012.
I have an offer from company Y. Company Y is asking me if I want H1 extension or H1 transfer? What should I answer them. Which one ensures that I have a 3 year extension. Please advise ASAP.
Thanks.
You should tell them to file a H1 Change of Employer petition based on your approved I-140. Let them know they need to file a LCA requesting a 3 yr term and get the LCA approval and then file form I-129 requesting for a 3 yr H1.

Question1) Is there anything like a H1Btransfer or is it a brand new application??
Yes, company B will need to file an H1 transfer
Question2) Does this H1B transfer go through the 65,000 quota system?? Is there a chance my H1B transfer can be rejected because I did not make it in the 65,000?
H1 B transfers are not counted against teh 65, 000 quota.
Question3) When can I start working for Company B?
Question4) Company B said that I should only inform Company A after I get a receipt from USCIS about my H1B transfer. If Company A matches up the salary what Company B is offering me after I inform them and I still havent started working with Company B, can I stay with Company A? If yes, What about the H1B transfer application by Company B?
You can start working with Company B once you get the receipt of filing. There is no need for you to join company B even after they have filed for your transfer. - you can continue to work with company A.

OK. I give you the benefit of doubt. I gave 10 detailed replies on this subject.
but a search for 'skin test' gave me:

Doctor will keep x-ray. and write a report that there is no evidence of any active contagious TB infection now or in the past. Something like that. he will enclose it in the sealed cover.
Plus
advice to county to start INH regimen.
or
nothing. Go home nicely. As in my case.

I think any non-H1 (including H4) stay wont count. You will have full 6 yrs on H1 visa.
This is wrong. If you go out of USA and come back after a gap of 1 year, then only u will get full 6 years. Other wise whatever your status is ( as L1, B1 etc ) that will count into H1 period

Hi Friends,
I am a green card holder, becoming eligible for citizenship in April 2009. My fiance has been in the US for the past 2 plus years on F1. She completes her MS in December this year .We plan to visit our home country in August this year and get married. I thought this was a relatively uncomplicated case till I read in some forum recently that marriage to a permanent resident can be a barrier to being admitted to the U.S. in F-1 status. This is because such a marriage obliterates the "non-immigrant" intent required for F-1 entrants. This could very easily jeopardize her plan to re-enter in F-1 status.
Any thoughts or advice on this? Appreciate all the help.
Thanks a lot.

It may be operated by the SSA but then how does it know that the EAD you have submitted is genuine and is valid for work? There has got to be a real time call to the USCIS systems to validate that the EAD is genuine. Now common sense would say that it should just be a read only query returning a Yes/No response, but then the USCIS has probably overengineered it just as I am probably overthinking the situation. :D

That is may not correct. Stuart Anderson was never a lobbist. But he did play a key role in AC21 law. Back then Stuart was Legislative Director for Sen. Abraham (R-MI). Stuart worked with key staffers across the aisle to recapture and pass other favorable provisions in AC21. In that sense, Stuart always had a front row seat to witness things unfold in front of him. This is what makes his book so unique.
According to the website, Stuart is Adjunct Scholar at CATO institute and he is executive director of another policy institute called NFAP.
