Hi,
I am on Adv-Parole (with EAD) and planning to visit India in July 2010.
I know that UK and France require transit visa, but I was wondering whether I can fly via KLM (Amsterdam) OR Lufthansa (Frankfurt) without any transit visa ?
Will appreciate the response.

I think it means if you sent in your application then you can get a receipt by the date listed.

thanks for your response. My lawyer said she mailed with Fedex and it was delivered 3 weeks back. She is saying these days it takes 3-4 weeks to get receipt notice. but I am not sure whether its true or its just my case getting lost somewhere.

Hi,
My employer has initiated my H1 B visa for our client which is a telecom giant. I was denied H1B with the reason that I am a Mechanical Engineer. The document says that as a mechanical engineer I need 6yrs exp. I already have more than 4yrs exp in IT. The thing which wonders me is that, 2 of my engineering classmates got their H1 approved. Is there any clause which says about this. Please help me.

This is a standard text of USCIS, you should hear from them with in 15 calendar days of response receive date as it is PP. Ask your company/attorney to get in touch with USCIS.

It is not illegal. Some companies apply for extensions a bit late and in the mean time, the VISA expires. It is OK. At the most he/she will not be able to drive as the drivers license is linked to the VISA expiry.

Haitians might be eligible for TPS (Temporary protected status) because of the recent earth quake. Not sure if this applies for people already in USA or not.
Try exploring that. Like Madan said, you would need to be a citizen if you want to sponsor her GC.

I think the idea is that you can choose to make your designs in to actual shirts that you sell… but it's not required as part of the competition.
In the original t-shirt contest, people were required to put their designs on Cafepress so that people could actually buy the shirts (I have two of them). Kirupa took issue with that this time:

So, this time, you aren't required to make your shirt purchasable. Hypothetically, you could put it up on Cafepress or another, similar site. I think it'd be cool if everyone did that, but I'm not running the show. :kommie:

I applied for my I-131, I-765 and I-485 together under EB-2 category on the 13th of September 2010. I got approval letters for both I-131 and I-765 by the 9th of November 2010. My wife and I also received our EAD cards and travel documents. But today I got another set of receipts for both I-765 and I-131 with rfe for photographs. The receipts number are different in both the previous and new receipts and the new ones are showing up in pending state on the USCIS website.
Please let me know what can be the reason I got these duplicate receipts and what should be the next steps.

The cost varies by family size. For a family of 4, in the beginning u'll need 1000-2000 for application fees and to prepare ur documents. one or two years later, you'll need another 1000-2000 for medical exams and landing/visa fees.
If you apply to the federal program, you are allowed to go anywhere except quebec. There is also a provincial program in each province that allows u to immigrate to that province, but then again u can move later..

I and my family have to travel to India urgently due to medical urgency. Our only AP document was taken last year and this year the renewal is not yet done. We are using our EAD status and H1 is expired and no longer available.
Is there a way I can get an emergency appt and a AP travel document. if yes, what do I need to do to get that.

Anoop - dont worry about it and ask your company to reapply with a stronger educational valuation. Everything depends on the educational valuation report submitted along with the application.

I already applied 485 with one I40 Priority date.
If I get my another labor approved with a old Priority date, can I amend my existing 485 with this new PD or should I be applying new 485 ?
