"I’m doing things on my own terms. I don’t have to answer to anyone but me."
-Perez Hilton

Oh shut up Perez! Ok, let me state that I had promised myself when I started "Glamour Whore" that I would NEVER use it to slam anyone. EVER. Sadly, today I am breaking a promise to myself. I am going to slam Perez Hilton for being a blight on the blogging community and for having the nerve to always refer to himself as a "Journalist". That alone is so insulting to true journalists that it makes me wanna "Hollywood" slap him....Will.I.Am already handled that for me...*Kisses to Will for that*!! He is disrespectful, mean, ethically irresponsible, filled with self-importance, and astoundingly unprofessional. I have kept my opinion of Perez off my blog for a very long time but feel his latest antics must be addressed. An open letter to Perez will at least make me feel as if I am not talking behind his huge back...

Dear Perez,
Putting all of your mean-spirited antics aside I would like to talk you about professionalism when dealing with other media outlets. When someone like yourself, anyone for that matter, has something they need to promote such as your "book", it's a good idea NOT to bite the hand that offers you POSITIVE EXPOSURE AND PRESS... you idiot. If you are booked on a show at a specific time, showing up more than an hour early and DEMANDING a change in schedule and then proceeding to leave when your silly demands aren't met is not only ignorant it is also the definition of UNPROFESSIONAL. Rapper Snoop and a children's choir were also scheduled and both, who have actual TALENT, acted professionally and were beyond gracious to work with according to the TV station. The same station you infuriated with your ridiculous demands. As a beauty/fashion blogger who is hoping to change the way the world of journalism sees bloggers, I am distressed by the damage you do to the rest of us. I am also distressed by your hair and wardrobe but that is not the subject at hand. Please stop acting like a DIVA, you ARE NOT A DIVA...you are someone who simply got lucky. Plain and simple. Acting the way you do will only shorten your 15 minutes. Which would be fine with me EXCEPT in the process you will also do serious damage to the genre of blogging. So knock it off... Learn how to be professional, hire a stylist and please see a dermatologist. Bad skin and an even worse wardrobe does not a diva make.
Sincerely,
Glamour Whore...no hugs and kisses for you.

Let's go the tape...

~RiRi and Iman Keep It Original At The Glamour Magazine "Women Of The Year" Awards~

"True originality consists not in a new manner but in a new vision." ~Edith Wharton

On Monday November 9th, Glamour Magazine held it's annual Women Of The Year Award ceremony. The award ceremony was held at Carnegie Hall followed by a sit down dinner at "South Gate" restaurant in NYC. Rihanna was the recipient of the “The Back-On-Top Superstar” award and was presented her award by the legendary Iman. Rihanna, a rising fashion icon, and Iman, a certified fashion icon, did not disappoint. Both were clad in stand-out gowns. For the past two days I have read numerous "Love it or Hate it" polls on fashion/style blogs/websites all over the web about Rihanna's Stephane Rolland gown and Iman's Jason Wu gown. Now, do not take this the wrong way but...I don't give a damn who loved or hated Iman's stunning gown, all I know is that I LOVED IT! I think it was fun, gorgeous, feminine and original. I also feel that Iman is the only one who could pull it off...

Rihanna wore two gowns. A Stéphane Rolland couture gown for the awards ceremony and a Jasmine di Milo gown for dinner. It was the 1st one that has people buzzing. Everyone has an opinion on it...except me. I can't make up my mind. One minute, I love it and think it's fabulously fashion forward and the next minute I change my mind and hate it.

The 2nd dress however was just STUNNING. Period. No confusion.

So...I'm going to do as all my fellow bloggers have done and get your opinion on Riri's Stephane Rolland gown...

I want to give a shout out to
"Red Carpet Fashion Awards" for some of the photos used in this post. They are my one of my very favorite fashion sites and you should definitely check them out.

**FAB WEBSITE ALERT** ~BeautySwatch.com~

"I live by a man's code, designed to fit a man's world, yet at the same time I never forget that a woman's first job is to choose the right shade of lipstick."
-Carole Lombard

Ok ladies, how many times have you ordered a lipstick online only to receive it and find out it looks NOTHING like the color swatch the website provided. I literally stopped purchasing cosmetics online because of too many "lipgloss and letdown" incidents. Or have you ever seen a promo photo of a new collection...wait anxiously for the launch...get to the counter and find out that phenomenal shade barely shows up on your lips? MAC is famous for that...sorry, but it's true.

Websites like
Temptalia have made it somewhat easier with their "color wiped on hand" swatch photos, actually I have relied on Temptalia alot for getting an idea of what a color will look like in person. The only problem with that is wrist/arm skin is not lip skin. Meaning, the color is still going to look different that it appears. So what's a girl to do? Glad you asked...

BeautySwatch.com might be the BEST site I have found this year and will definitely go into my list of all-time favorite cosmetic websites. Basically, it is a "Lipstick Library". Filled with pictures, clear pictures, of lipstick on actual LIPS. The site is a lipstick nirvana. Lipsticks are broken down into categories/shades. They also have great posts like "The 5 Universally Flattering Shades" and "Lip Interviews" with beauty bloggers who provide the photos. Trust me...you need this site before you purchase any lipstick!! And if you want to add to their library you can upload swatches of lipstick and nail polish also.

"No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play it." ~H.E. Luccock

I was at a family gathering tonight, and I was talking to my precious and fashionable little cousin "Sarah Bear" (Love U Sarah Bear!!), we were talking fashion and I heard myself preaching to her: "Juicy is DONE" "UGGS are out" "Ed Hardy is a wrap!!". Now as much as I truly believe those statements to be true, I realized that I wasn't stating them as opinion, I was stating them as fact. As if my opinion was the final word on all matters beauty, fashion and style. Hmmm...when I did become Mr.Blackwell's heir apparent? I figured out it was around the time I starting "Glamour Whore".

I have gained so much since I started writing...contacts, job opportunities, friends, and apparently...Narcissism. It was kind of inevitable really, all my blogs are filled with "I". The trends "I" love, the cosmetics "I" feel you should have, the editorials "I" think you see, the stars "I" feel have the best style. Ugh..."I" am so over myself.

Solution? Balance. Yup, "I" am going to try to give you links to blogs "I" don't write. "Glamarazzi" is going to be a new weekly post that directs you to other blogs. Some are about beauty, some about style/fashion and all are GLAMOROUS. So if you're a fellow blogger and your reading this please leave me your blog url in the comments section...join the "Glamarazzi".

Here are some great recent posts from blogs I adore, respect and can't live without...

Vex In The City: Such a great blog, founded and authored by a great gal from the UK. I love her style and she provides great color swatches of the cosmetics she acquires. If you are a cosmetics junkie...this is a great blog for you. I love her post this week about cosmetics brand K by Beverley Knight A line designed for ethnic skin tones. Check out her review and color swatches.

Diary Of A Style Addict: I love this blog mostly because I love the author's personal style and she finds the best deals and steals. She also has an amazing ability for DIY projects. Her "haul" videos are great, she makes you aware of the sales going on and the stores you will find the best fashion without breaking the bank. The videos are so informative and entertaining I almost satisfy my shopping craving just by watching one. My favorite post this week is one about wearing short shirts with leggings...is it a "do" or a "don't"?

Ferohhhsh: This definitely one of my favorites. Mz.Dani writes like a "human", meaning her posts don't sound like press releases. So refreshing! Her genuine love of fashion and beauty oozes off the screen. Although she mostly covers fashion/style, she also writes about cosmetics/products, sales, trends, accessories, etc. I damn near had a "shoegasm" from her latest post about boot trends. Check it out...

Strictly Fab: Ok, I swear I'm not plugging "Strictly Fab" because I am the blog's beauty expert. I am including them because I was a HUGE fan before I was lucky enough to get an opportunity to write for them. The site founded and edited by Celena Gill, a woman I highly admire, covers fashion, style, beauty, trends and lifestyle. A great, informative blog. I love Celena's post this week about tube scarves...a great winter accessory.

Ok, help me redeem myself from my narcissism by visiting these blogs (still read mine tho!! Lol...) and getting yourself a new outlook and perspective from 4 very different women..."The Glamarazzi" And don't forget to me your link if you want to join us:) xoxo

~Jimmy Choo For H & M *PIX of ENTIRE Collection*~

Follow my blog with bloglovin´

"Wait! I lost my Choo!" -Sarah Jessica Parker as "Carrie Bradshaw" in "Sex And The City"

A BAZILLION blog posts have been written about the Jimmy Choo For H & M Collection. The collection, available November 14th, was actually not something I was looking forward to. I wrote about my misgivings in a previous post.

A brief recap: I generally do not like the idea of high end designers doing lines for H & M, Target, Payless etc... I like buying couture and knowing not everyone has it or can have it. I know, I'm terrible. Whatever. I have another reason. I find the collections these couture designers do for non-couture stores like Target, H & M, Payless (do not get me started on Payless) are often not reminiscent of their usual style. In other words, these collections usually suck.

That being said, I was fully prepared for this collection to be sub-par. I was all set to hate it. Surprisingly, I didn't. Hate it that is. I actually like it. However, everyone else hates it. I have been reading blogs/fashion magazines giving bad reviews for weeks. I don't get it, I think it's pretty good and excellent for H & M. I may even break my rule about never ever shopping in that horrible place.

Take a look at pictures of the collection and let me what you think...

There are a few pieces I could do without, but overall I'm impressed. Now if only H & M didn't smell so funny...
