"I was always a singer and a dancer, and I always wanted to be an actress. For me, it's all just one thing." -Jennifer Lopez
If you thought I was excited last week about Mz.Beyonce's new video "Video Phone"...you were right. I was beyond excited. There are certain women in the music industry that just have that "thing", the "it" factor. They know how to make a compelling visually appealing music video and they really know how to put on a show. Bey is definitely one of them. She oozes glamour and sultry sex appeal. She learned this however from the divas that came before her. This week is ultra exciting because not 1, not 2, not even 3...but FOUR showstopping divas are back...and 1 rookie who is well on her way to becoming a outright diva... It was a great week for women in music videos...
**LINK LOVE** For always providing the hottest videos I am sending big kisses to WSHH
I'll start with the "rookie". Miss.Keri Hilson released her video for "I Like" and it's quite apparent that this young woman has a bright future ahead of her. Not only is she talented but she has that "thing" I mentioned above...that natural glamour...a style that's all her own and it's fabulous.
Keri Hilson "I Like":
Now we have Mz.Alicia Keys. I can't even say enough about Mz.Keys. Her voice is the TRUTH. Her stage presence is incomparable. And I'm happy to say she has blossomed in more than 1 way. She has come into her own style, she's rockin fab makeup looks and she has that "grown woman" vibe about her and she's is wearing it well. I am loving the looks in this video. Peep her beautifully painted back and the beyond-hot purple bodysuit...
Alicia Keys "Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart":
Toni Braxton. Yup. That's what I said. I said "Toni Braxton". She's back!!!! And she sounds AMAZING and looks PHENOMENAL. She links up with the oh-so-hot (for right now) Trey Songz on her new single and video "Yesterday" and the result is...WELCOME BACK TONI!!! I am lovin her looks in this video...all of em. She even out-glams the 20something y/o blond in the video...by a mile. Her wardrobe, hair/makeup, body (can't believe she 2 kids!!) and voice are all ON POINT! Show em how it's done Toni...
Toni Braxton "Yesterday":
Now we have Janet "Mz.Jackson If You're Nasty" Jackson. There are no words... The rest of the women on this list and every other female out there tryin to do it all owe Mz.Jackson a huge THANK YOU. Whatever it is that they're trying to do, Janet did it first. And did it well. Much like her late brother Michael Jackson, Janet's career was and is groundbreaking, rule breaking and changed women's place in music and video for the better. She ALWAYS looks beyond FIERCE in her videos and on stage. Her dance and vocal skills are INSANE. And it doesn't look like there's gonna be an end to her reign anytime soon. She is most definitely in my "Glamour Whore Hall Of Fame"...
Janet Jackson "Make Me":
Last but certainly NEVER least...
JLO, Jenny From Tha Block, Lola...whateva you wanna call her Jennifer Lopez is in my mind the actual definition of "Glamour". Seriously. Her picture should appear along the definition in the dictionary. People love to criticize her abilities. Whatever... People love to criticize anyone and anything so I'm just gonna ignore them and shamelessly profess my undying admiration for la Lopez. Yup. I love her!! She reeks of glamour. Ofter reminiscent of old Hollywood...my favorite kind. Her videos contain more fab fashion, hair/makeup and accessories than an entire issue of Vogue.
Yeah, I said it. Get over it and yourself...
She sure as hell doesn't disappoint me with her video for "Fresh Out The Oven". Wearing the HOTTEST Louboutins of the season, sporting siren-red lipstick and wearing the latest trends and accessories her video is a fashion magazine in motion and I'm mesmerized by it. After you watch the video look below for some coming attractions of tomorrow night's J Lo performance at the AMAs. From the pix (provided by the fabulous JUST JARED) it looks like she is about to SHUT IT DOWN...I heard something about "fireworks"...damn... She's gonna takeover the show in true La Lopez form...
I have also provided her new single "Louboutins" Yup, it's called "Louboutins"!!!! It's my new theme song...so f'n fabulous.

It's an exciting day glamettes!!! Today, I am launching a new "Glamour Whore" weekly feature!! "5 Questions For..." is going to be a Q & A with people involved in the beauty/fashion/entertainment industry. Every week it will be a different person giving us their opinions and favorite products. I'm really excited about this.
As for who should launch the feature? I thought long and hard about that. I decided on Joslynne Hood, a gorgeous young model from Camden NJ. Since I already know J Hood, I can personally attest to the fact that she is not just another pretty face, she is also cooler than the other side of the pillow... Career wise she is at a very exciting place, having just been signed to Wilhelmina Models, the icing on the top of a already impressive career. A young star on the rise struck me as the perfect choice for "5 Questions For..."
So with out further ado...
"5 Questions For... Wilhelmina Model Joslynne Hood"
1) Do you have a signature scent? And if so what is it and why do you love it? My signature scent is Zest Energy... lol. I'm not really a perfume kind of girl so you wont find any in my house. Years ago I did receive this really nice perfume that I absolutely adored but, I can't remember the name. It comes in a sphere shaped bottle and the top half is gold and the cap is gold and round as well. If you know the name let me know, I need it asap. (I don't recall the name of it being English)
2) False Eyelashes... Love em or Hate em? OH M GEE I LOVE THEM!!! Though I have yet to master putting them on and getting them super close to my lashes I love them. I actually just bought 20 pair from China for like 3 bucks. By the end of these 20 I should be a master.
3) If you had to nominate 3 beauty products into the "Beauty Product Hall Of Fame" what would they be? 1. Dermablend- absolutely the bomb and after being a Sally Hanson lover for years I will never go back Dermablend rocks my socks.
2. Noxzema- old product and still great
3. Covergirls Lash Blast mascara- It actually does work and doesn't make my eye lashes fall out like other products
4) How do you keep your skin so beautiful? Funny thing is I don't think I have the best skin but MUAs always tell me I have nice skin. I guess its the Noxzema and this Neutrogena mask scrub I use on heavy rotation.
5) What is your preferred "Red Carpet" look for yourself? I have yet to hit the red carpet so I'll have to postpone this answer.
*****Bonus Question*****
*Favorite scent on a man? AXE!!!! Something about it makes me like the girls in the commercials... lol. Its the AXE effect...
Thanx Jos!!! Contact info for Mz.Hood under the pix:
"You're callin me more than ever now that were done... You had a good girl, good girl but Didnt know how to treat her, treat her (treat her) So silly boy get out my face (my face)..." -Eva Simon "Silly Boy"
The winner of the 2004 season Dutch version of "Popstars" Eva Green is a rising star. I see such potential in this one-of-a-kind songstress. Her style is what I really admire. She is what Lady Gaga tries to be but never quite gets right. From her flame red, mile high hair right down to her designer shoe clad feet this up and comer oozes style, sass, and originality. I randomly came across her recent video for "Silly Boy" (watch the video below) and knew I was witnessing a star/fashionista in the making... And just in time, I really, really need someone to knock Lady Whats-her-name out of the headlines asap.

When I started this blog I did so with the purpose of honing and improving my writing skills in hopes a beauty editor job in the future. Well 6 months later this blog has become like a child to me. It's my baby!! And it's time for my baby to grow up a little bit. And by grow I mean get bigger and better.
A few things I'm planning are official "Glamour Whore" lipglosses, nail polishes, and some sexy & glam tank/wifebeaters. As I was thinking up ideas and running them past friends/family/co-workers the question I received was "Are you going to do a press kit?" Hmmmm...never thought about that.
A staple in a press kit is a PR photo. The thought of that excited me, ideas started swirling around in my head. So, I started talking to some of the photogs I have worked with forever and I really liked their vision.
But then...I had a genius idea. My friend James Johnson is a up and coming photographer with crazy skills. His intense passion and zest for what he does is infectious. I love discussing "the industry" with him, he has a fresh, unjaded outlook and vision. It suddenly seemed crystal clear to me that he should shoot the pix. The photogs I work with already have their fair share of work and have been doing it forever. James (JJ to me;) is new to the business, but fantastic at what he does and I felt that even though he's still new, he is the most qualified for what I'm looking for. So, I took a leap of faith and told him I wanted to give him the job...
It's the best decision I've made in a long time. I realized this when I woke up this morning to find text messages from him with his ideas and visions and they were exactly what I was thinking!! THEN... I received a text saying he was creating a logo for me and a Twitter/Myspace layout/background. Huh?! As much as I love the photogs I work with, that is just not something they offer to do. James goes the extra 100 miles. Within a few hours my blog had a FABULOUS new logo and I have a phenomenal layout/background for my other networking sites.
I have written about him before in a post called "Shooting Stars" and have already preached to you about his talent. Well, I'm saying it again...this kid is uber-talented. AND he's a triple threat. His photoshop and graphic design skills are as extraordinary as his photography skills. AND he has a huge heart and gives back to his community . He is hard at work organizing a great toy drive in his area of South Jersey as I type this.
So basically what I'm trying to tell you is...
If you need: 1) A great photographer for a shoot 2) A logo or layout made for your website 3) Some editing/photoshop work done.

Lately I have been OBSESSED with vivid colors and textures. I want to paint every face I see in vibrant colors and dip them in glitter and diamonds. I have visions of Fuchsia cheeks, Chartreuse eyelids, Yellow lips. Yes, I said yellow lips... Don't knock it til you've tried it.
Like I said, I'm a little obsessed with color these days, maybe more than a little obsessed.
I have come across a photographer who apparently feels the same I do about color and texture and has some serious photography skills to properly highlight it. I am completely enamored of her work. Her name is Daniela Glunz and she is amazing. It's like her photos are ALIVE and they are living VIVIDLY. The colors and the textures just about jump off the page at you.
Now, being a makeup artist I feel I must mention that she obviously works with some incredibly talented MUAs. That being said however, a MUA can paint a face and 2 different photogs can take a pic of said face and you will see 2 completely different pictures. Us MUAs are essential but so is a photographer's skill and vision. Daniela Glunz's skill and vision are outstanding and extraordinary...

Famed fashion photog and frequent French Vogue contributor Patrick Demarchelier shot actress Diane Kruger for French Vogue Oct 09. Styled by Vogue Paris Editor-in-Chief Carine Roitfeld, Diane goes from fresh-faced blond to a black lace clad minx...and it's ultra fabulous. I am sooooo loving this lace trend.
Follow my blog with bloglovin´ "I feel like a tranny a lot of the time. I don't know, I'm ... large? They put me in six-inch heels, and I tower over every man. I've got this long hair and lots of clothes and makeup on. I just feel really big a lot of the time, and I'm surrounded by a lot of tiny people. I feel like a man sometimes." -- Gossip Girl's Blake Lively, in the May issue of Allure, on not being one of Hollywood's tiny little things.
Tranny? Man? No Mz.Lively, you wear couture as if it was made for you. This is not the first time Glamour Whore has been impressed by beautiful Blake and written about it. Balmain was Blake's choice for the after-party following the 61st Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday Sept 20th. She had wowed everyone on the red carpet in her red hot Versace with a plunging neck line and sexy back line and was turning heads again at the after-Emmy soiree. Nicely Done Blake, Serena would be proud.
"There's a whole lot of crotch grabbing and moonwalking going on in my house." –Madonna on her sons' obsession with Michael Jackson during the show-opening tribute to the late pop star.
As some of you may already know, Glamour Whore lives for awards shows. Yup, I live for Red Carpet moments. The 2009 Video Music Awards, which was held last night in NYC at Radio City Music Hall, was one of the best in recent years.
The night started with a phenomenal and touching tribute to the late great icon Michael Jackson. Madonna opened the show with a tear inducing speech and Mz.Janet Jackson did her brother justice with a tribute performance that had Glamour Whore dancing around the room in my jammies!!
Performances by Beyonce, Katy Perry, Pink, Alicia Keys and Jay Z, just to name a few, had the crowd on it's feet most of the night. The amount of glitz and glamour had me on mine...
There was an immense amount of talent in attendance and there was also no shortage of glamour. Have a look at some of my favorite moments...

A moment of graciousness and kindness. I was going to explain this picture but since everyone on the planet already knows what happened I'm not feeling the need to give Kanye any press. Beyonce showed pure class and I'm thrilled that Taylor got to have her moment...
