"The pen is mightier than the sword" -Edward Bulwer-Lytton

A pinkish-coral pen scented with Michael Kors "Very Hollywood" fragrance ($25) is about as "Hollywood" as one can get... I love this concept!! A scented pen!! So much better than that Bic blue ink aroma!! Michael Kors newest fragrance features a few goodies besides the delicious smelling perfume itself. Besides the pen there's also a solid perfume cocktail ring, and a gift set which will include fragrance and unscented false eyelashes, a miniature Very Hollywood bottle choker and gold clutch.

The "very Hollywood" line launches in September 09 and can be purchased via
http://www.michaelkors.com/

The glass bottle is made to resemble flashbulbs and the outer packaging is a rich coral with a gold border, the Very Hollywood label features a font inspired by the Beverly Hills Hotel.

~Kim Dash For YRB Magazine September 09~

"I am loving the results... I really love the transformation and the clothes were amazing!!! This has got to be one of the most unique shoots I've ever done! Not sure I'll ever go for a permanent short cut, but it definitely works for this shoot." -Kim Kardashian on her spread (including cover) for YRB magazine.

Kim Kardashian is quickly becoming one of my favorite magazine darlings. Who knew she was fearless when it came to changing up her look and taking risks? Those risks continue to pay off. The cover and spread for
YRB's September 09 issue are PHENOMENAL. Shot by the talented Mike Ruiz, styled by Darius baptist (who did an exceptional job), makeup was done by the always awe-inspiring Troy Jensen . The result is a dramatic, divine, glamorous layout for YRB.

Now, Mz. Dash hasn't limited taking risks to just magazine photo shoots. Kim has gone BLONDE!! I personally love it, I'm not saying I like it better than her natural shade, I'm just saying that I like this look also. They are two completely different looks and I think she looks fabulous in both shades, I will however say that I feel the lighter shade should probably end with the summer season since it's such a "summer look"... Have a look and tell me what you think.

“Beauty awakens the soul to act.” -Dante Alighieri quotes (Italian Author and Poet.1265-1321)

Rihanna posed for famed photographer
Steven Klein resulting in an amazing spread for Vogue Italia's fashion supplement for the mag's September 09 issue... The photo spread aptly named "Extreme Couture" is rumored to be the reason RiRi shaved her head. If true, her efforts paid off as the photos are FIERCE. This maybe one of the best layouts I have ever seen...

Most jewelry purchases are for the ears, neck, and fingers. Maybe once in awhile a toe, if you like that sort of thing...Glamour Whore does not. Litter SF has taken jewelry to a whole other level and I am lovin it. Any company that creates jewelry to adorn even more parts of my body is a company I want to know more about. ~“Imagination is the beginning of creation. You imagine what you desire, you will what you imagine and at last you create what you will.”~ -George Bernard Shaw

Glamour Whore sashayed out of her cozy apartment to run some errands, with absolutely no intention of cosmetic shopping. Due to the economy I have been trying to add "Recessionista" to my resume. I walked into Willowbrook Mall with intentions of walking right thru Macy's without stopping. I was simply at the mall to research a purchase that was actually necessary and was going to be in and out quickly. Best laid plans....

As I TRIED to quickly get thru Macy's and into the actual mall, a display at the Benefit counter caught my eye. Their "It Girl" collection had a shade on display that was heavenly... "I Cannes & I Will" a golden mulberry a deliciously rich and glittery shade. Subtly glittery, not disco ball glittery. It was one those perfect shades that is so hard to come across.

As I was admiring the shade a Benefit salesperson approached me. Shannon, the salesperson was very nice but not too nice... See, I have to admit something. I normally HATE cosmetic counter sales people ( I actually usually refer to them as "Counter Bots). If they're not annoyingly ignorant to the product they're selling then they are way too "kiss ass". That is the worst!! You know the type I'm talking about, the ones that tell you that every single thing you look at would look wonderful on you. Shannon was different, she was sweet yet cool. Helpful but not over eager. I asked about "I Cannes & I Will" and she said the words I dread hearing: "Sold Out". Glamour Whore however does not believe in "Sold Out" and apparently neither does Shannon because she proceeded to make me the shade I coveted via 2 other products. A combination of Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner in Stiletto and Luster Duster in Goldilocks became my new favorite eyeshadow. I actually like it better than the color I originally wanted!!

If you are ever in The Willowbrook Mall Macys, go to the Benefit counter and hope Shannon is working. She will make sure you leave with exactly what you are looking for and nothing you don't want/need. She "Cannes & Will" make sure you leave with what you need and/or desire. Thanx Shannon!! xoxo

To get what I now call "Shades of Shannon" you only need these 2 products:

Benefit Luster Duster in Goldilocks

Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow/Liner

Simply apply a medium coat of Stiletto and blend some Goldilocks right into the shadow and voila...Shades Of Shannon!!

~3 Top Artists. 1 Hot Collection. Make-Up Art Cosmetics Fall '09...UTTERLY AMAZING~

~“We are M·A·C Make-Up Art Cosmetics. Every face is a canvas to us, a glorious chance for spectacular transformation. It’s nice to be pretty, but it’s so much more fabulous and interesting to be a persona, something once out-of-grasp that has, through the power of art, become thrillingly real.”~ -James Gager, Senior Vice President/Creative Director.

MAC Cosmetics
"MakeUp Art Cosmetics Fall 09" line is so amazingly vivid and colorific that I am actually having a hard time focusing on my words as I write them...yes, I am experiencing brain lock. It's just that good...

Once again, under the vision and leadership of James Gager, MAC has done something never done before, that would be merge makeup artistry with the conventional art world. Three artists at the top of their genres have teamed up with MAC to produce a collection that is so visually appealing that it has completely hypnotized Glamour Whore and has so many possibilities that I really believe the products in this collection will be all I need for a long long time.

Now, my usual blog about a fall line would normally consist of products lists and photos but I want to change it up for this collection. Instead of the norm, I would like to instead introduce you to the artists MAC chose to create this divine line. After I do that there will a video produced by MAC introducing you to the line and the artists for your viewing pleasure.

The first artist is uber talented photographer Richard Phillips. His photo "Der Bodensee" is also his painting for the MAC Collection promo ads. With help from the fashion industry's favorite re-touch artist they turned a gorgeous photo into a glorious painting.

Some more of Richard Phillip's genius work...

I will now introduce you to Marilyn Minter, a Louisiana born artist. Marilyn Minter has a style all her own. I absolutely adore her "enamel on metal" paintings and even Madonna is a fan, excerpts from Minter's
"Green Pink Caviar" video were used as the video backdrop for the opening song in Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour. Her artworks often include sexuality and erotic imagery. Her method of painting involves many coatings of translucent enamel paint on metal to produce a luminous, almost hallucinatory finish.
Have a look...

And her MAC Promo:

And finally famed illustrator, children's book author, and designer Maira Kalman. NYC raised Mz.Kalman left Tel Aviv with her family at the age of 4 and attended The High School Of Music And Art, which now goes by the name LaGuardia High School. Until his death in 1999 Maira was married to Tibor Kalman and they ran a design company called M&Co, a successful company to this very day.

I absolutely cannot wait to rock MAC Pigment in Brash and Bold from this collection with Black Knight Matte lipstick from the Style Black Collection!!!
