~An Orgy Of Color and Glamour..."Orglamix"

~Colors, like features, follow the changes of the emotions." -Pablo Picasso
I couldn't agree more Mr.Picasso, the colors I'm wearing are almost always a dead give away to my mood/emotions at that time. Sometimes I use the power of color to alter my mood. If I'm stuck in a dark mood I may throw on a hot pink pair of stilettos and matching lipgloss, because I believe in the power of pink. I also believe in the power of mandarin orange, lime green, cerise, aubergine, sapphire etc... So if I were to have a "makeup soulmate" it would be "Orglamix".
This is a brand that I cannot say enough about. So I will tell you the most important facts.
1) Orglamix is a makeup artists dream product. Rich pigment, flawless finish, large array of colors to choose from, and AFFORDABLE.
2) Privately owned, the creator/owner of this brand is readily and willingly accessible. Cheri (see, accessible!!) is very always happy to communicate with her clients. She has a Facebook and Twitter page that she actively communicates through and email that can be sent via the aforementioned sites and the Orglamix official shop site. If you have questions or concerns regarding the product she is the kind of business owner that will take the time to address such matters.
3) Did I mention AFFORDABLE?! I have never in my life seen quality for such little cost. It's almost criminal. Single pigments can be bought for as little as $3.00 and 3 pigment collections as little as $7.50.
4) All of the products are completely and utterly all natural and excellent for all skin types.
5) My FAVORITE part...the "Custom Colorista" Custom shades!! It's as simple as contacting Cheri/Orglamix and providing an image or two of the color you wish to have made, include properties such as "sheer" or "color shifting" and in no time you will have a unique shade that is all your own. FABULOUS.
Now for Orglamix policies and background, I will let Cheri tell you in her own words because I couldn't say it better than her:

"I know not everyone will like me, but this is who I am so if you don't like it, tough!" -Britney Spears
I have made no secret of my love of cartoons/comics and super heroines and villainesses. I also have been an out loud and proud Britney supporter. I feel all of the aforementioned are utterly glamorous, sexy and put plainly, kick ass. So I was thrilled when the winning video of Britney's Global Fan Fiction contest was released and it was animated!! The winner, Britneli (one name, apparently like Madonna...Lol)the grand-prize winner, chose the song 'Kill the Lights' and wrote a Britney-inspired story which was been transformed into a official digitally animated music video. Nice work Britneli!! Congrats!!

~The British Are Coming!! Introducing "Illamasqua"~
Follow my blog with bloglovin´
"There is certainly no absolute standard of beauty. That precisely is what makes its pursuit so interesting." -John Kenneth Galbraith
In September of 2008 a line of cosmetics called Illamasqua was launched in Selfridges, London. I personally have been dying to get my hands on it for the past few months, any line that earned itself the nickname "The British MAC" in less than a year had to be something extraordinary. Not to mention the fact that everytime I saw a promotional photo for the wonder brand, I literally got a headrush (yes, I have a severe makeup addiction) and yearned to paint faces with the rich beautiful colors in the collections. Speaking of the collections, they have a unique marketing approach, Illamasqua breaks down the brand into 4 "stories" in which you are to find your "alter ego". Omg...I LOVE IT!!
The 4 Stories are:
1)1920’s Berlin
2)Noir
3)Fantasy and Romance
4)Sirens (limited edition)
Another fabulous aspect of the company is that like MAC, they pay special attention to professional MUAs, giving them a generous 40% discount. MUA's like myself are lovin that. That being said...here is the approximate price range, $21 for a single eyeshadow, $18.50 for a lipgloss and around $29.50 for a foundation, so slightly more than MAC, but not as much as say Chanel or Christian Dior.
At the store in Selfridges the counter was equipped with laptops so when you go in for a makeover/application you could google any look you fancied for a recreation. That's ultra cool, no word on if that will be available in the US but I would think that would be a great new feature that american women would enjoy. Also included in the makeover/application is a dvd for you to take home to recreate the look yourself, and the price of the makeover/application is redeemable against products. So fabulous...that being said...
I am pleased to announce with much joy and anticipation that...THE BRITISH ARE COMING!! Yes, Illamasqua will be available stateside very soon. The line has been picked up by Sephora and will be in stores by the end of the month, however it is already available on Sephora's online forum. There will only be a few products from the line that won't pass US guidelines and will not be able to be sold however the bulk of the line will be available to you shortly.
Here are a few of Illamasqua's looks for those not familiar:
I love the sleek and simple yet elegant packaging...

28) "Stunna Ultra Premium Liqueur" Glamour Whore has found her signature cocktail;) Besides the sexy bottle and fabulous color, the best part of this liqueur is the smooth taste. Concocted deliciously with tequila, rum, vodka and other premium spirits mixed with melon and citrus flavors. Now, you all are getting priceless info right here because this is not yet available to everyone (yes, I'm special) however, it is set to launch momentarily and when it does I fully expect you to make yourself a "Glamour Whore" 2 parts Stunna Liqueur, 1 part Veuve Clicquot Champagne, and 1 part Blood Orange juice (very important to use Blood orange juice as opposed to regular oj), add shaved ice and a slice of a blood orange...sinfully delish and glamorous. For more recipes and to see the sexy bottle and read about this soon to be craze go to: http://www.drinkstunna.com/ You can also follow them on Twitter:http://twitter.com/STUNNA_LIQUEUR . Ok, 1 more Glamour Whore original Stunna Liqueur drink recipe: Rim your glass of choice with sugar, pour Stunna Liqueur straight up, garnish with 3 Gummi Bears and you have a "Candy Stunna". I promise you will love this grown and sexy beverage as much as I do.
29) Zink Magazine. Yes, more required reading. an idle mind is not glamorous.
30) Stargazer Lilies. I am nothing less than obsessed with these breathtaking fragrant flowers. I like them by my bedside with a window cracked...the scent wafting in the air as I get my beauty sleep. I would not want to live in a world without lilies...
31) Urban Decay Eyeshadow "Midnight Cowboy Rides Again" This sparkly neutral color is a must have for any makeup kit and I would be oh so sad without it. When I'm in the mood for glam without effort I just swipe a lil bit on and instant glamour appears on my eyelids or you can layer it over other colors for a sparkly effect...indispensable. $16 http://www.urbandecay.com/
32) Caress Evenly Gorgeous Exfoliating Body Wash: Burnt Brown Sugar and Karite Butter... I love this body wash, it cleans (obviously) is great for shaving and smells so good that I literally smell my own arm all day long...which makes me people look at me with that"wtf is she doing?!" look but I can't help it, I smell delicious thanks to this and the scent lasts all day!!
So there you have it...all my "must haves" and "can't live withouts". I hope you love them as much as I do...

17) Allure Magazine. More must read material. Filled with all of the latest beauty industry news.
18) MAC Lipglass in Clear. Buy this by the case. Right now. Hurry up. This is The Godfather of Lipgloss. The original formula. The best...end of story.
19) Red Velvet Cupcakes. Oh how I love my cupcakes!!!! And Red Velvet with Cream cheese frosting is pure bliss for me. They are extra special to me when I enjoy them with my treasured friend Laurelle AKA "Lil Sis". We get ours here: http://www.buttercupbakeshop.com/ You will become as addicted as we are.
20) Christian Dior J'adore: My signature scent, I love it. I am partial to all Dior scents and my 2nd favorite is Miss Dior Cherie. I favor Italian fashion designers but look to the French for my scent.
21) Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream $29.99 ( I get mine at Target) Ok, I have used every cream known to women, my family introduced me to Crème de la Mer at a young age and I was addicted until...I used this product. It is a miracle in a jar and like a million times cheaper than the rest of the creams out there. Get this ASAP.
22)Maybelline Lash Stiletto Ultimate Length Mascara. Every woman needs this. Put the Great Lash down for a minute and try something new. Glamour Whore would never steer you wrong. You will LOVE this.
23) MAC Lipglass in Nymphette $13 I would be lost without my lipgloss, I have millions of shades and brands but this is my favorite. I just feel ultra sexy with it on;) http://www.maccosmetics.com/
24) Benefit Erase Paste $26 http://www.benefitcosmetics.com/ This hides a multitude of sins and flaws... I am always armed with this brightening concealer...and you should be too.
25) My "DJ White Mike Presents TheFlyboyz.com" Mixtape. Ok, this one is near and dear to my heart for a few reasons. 1) I have made no secret of my love (understatement) of music. 2) These fellas are friends of mine, including my bestie "Shotti ShotGun". I love love love this CD and I do not leave the house without it. You will love it too, if ur the mood for a R&B flow (check) some hip hop (check) or some hard core rap (check) this CD has it all.. Produced by uber producer Traxx Trigga, these fellas...Shotti, SneakerBox Chock, Lo Pro, DJ White Mike, Klint Beastwood, Bueller, Jae Blvd, Money Car$on, Jay Criss, Major Heat, Funch, O Dezal, Charlii Hustle, Razor Sharp, Nyce Daytona, Devin Wade (who also is an AMAZING photog and graphic designer) put their heart and soul into their music and you hear it and feel it when your listening to this CD so go to http://www.theflyboyz.com/ and download this CD asap!! These guys are easy on the eyes, all around cool people and amazing artists...it don't get more glamorous or sexier than that. See why I can't leave the house without my Flyboyz;)
26) Clearasil Ultra. Ladies (and gents) when an unsightly blemish rears it's ugly head, this cream makes it disappear with lightening speed. A must have in any Glamour Whore's 911 kit.
27) Keep your pearly whites in tip top shape with Mentadent Whitening Toothpaste. I love this...I literally get nuts if I have to use another toothpaste!!

"The hair is the richest ornament of women." -Martin Luther
Oribe. Ken Paves. Rita Hazan. Frédéric Fekkai. Recognize these names? Of course. They are well known celebrity hair stylists. Now, they are admittedly excellent at what they do. Amazing talents, all of them. That being stated, another name you should know but most likely don't is Olivier Chomienne. Olivier is by far the most amazing hair/wig stylist I have ever seen in my life. Yes, that is a strong statement and I mean every word.
As a makeup artist with a deep passion for fashion, I have been watching fashion runway shows and reading Vogue/Elle/WWD and any other fashion magazine/periodical I could get my hands on since I was about 9 years old and working as a makeup artist for more years than I will state. What I have noticed is the 1st thing people make note of is the clothes, the 2nd is usually shoes/accessories and 3rd makeup/hair, however usually more emphasis on the makeup. The hairstylist is sometimes the unsung hero. However, Olivier may change all of that.
His creations are works of art that should be on display in the Louvre Museum or MOMA. If Olivier is the stylists on a shoot, you can bet the hair is going to be the star of the show. His talent is awe inspiring, cutting edge and... well...literally hair raising.
From the bio on his website: http://chomienne.com/
Olivier Chomienne was born and raised in France. He has lived and travelled throughout the world and often pulls his inspirations from the exotic cultures and colors he experienced. He has developed a unique style which ranges from natural beauty to one-of-a-kind pieces for high end concepts. After years of working in some of the top salons, he is now expanding into the world of editorial hairstyling , runway work, and art exhibitions. He is known for his conceptual abilities and positive energy.
Olivier is now based in New York City.

~Karl Lagerfeld For Fendi?! Have I Died And Gone To Fashion Heaven?~

"I can sit down on a white piece of paper and work because I don't believe too much into inspiration, only I'm waiting for inspiration, work and then inspiration may come. It's a little too easy to say that." -Karl Lagerfeld
Karl Lagerfeld For Fendi?! I'm sorry, I keep repeating myself but it's just too...good, for lack of a better word. I have been a Fendi enthusiast since I was just a wee little Sicilian glamette at home in CT. I have gone as far as to christen a fabulous part of my anatomy "The Fendi Sistas", I also named something "Gucci" but that's another story for another day... Needless to say, I am proud of fine Italian couture and Fendi is my favorite.
When I heard Karl Lagerfeld would be designing for Fendi, I truly felt like I had died and gone to fashion heaven... Ok, so I'm a lil dramatic...what did you expect?! Karl Lagerfeld, to me is a fashion God who walks among us mortals. He can do no wrong, and like another well known God, everything he touches turns to gold.
I have finally seen the first pictures of his collection for Fendi and was not surprised that he surpassed my expectations. Bellissimo!!

"A person's life is dyed with the color of his imagination." -Marcus Aurelius
Shu Uemura's newest collection "Primitribe", due in stores mid-August, was inspired by the savanna's of Africa. The vividness of the paint like colors truly make you feel like you are creating a work of art worthy of The Metropolitan Museum of Art while you are applying your "face". The fact that this line includes false eye lashes, also vividly colored, makes it very unique since very few collections include lashes. A nice touch.
